Initial Assessments
for Children and Adults

Initial Assessment for adults £195
Available online or face to face in Hayle, Falmouth or Bodmin
Duration: 90 minutes
Our initial assessment is a structured opportunity to explore your current situation and understand what support might be most helpful going forward.

We’ll talk with you and, where appropriate, anyone attending with you (such as parents or carers for young people) to build a clear picture of your concerns. We’ll gather information about:
-
The difficulties you are experiencing
-
How and when the issues started
-
Relevant background, context, and family factors
-
The things you would like to be different.
At the end of the session, we’ll share our thoughts and make personalised recommendations. These may include therapeutic approaches, onward referrals, or further diagnostic assessments if they would be helpful. We will also write you a brief letter with a summary of our meeting and thoughts.

This appointment is a first step toward clarity, and a supportive space to help you feel heard and understood.
Initial Assessment for children and young people £195
Available online or face to face in Hayle, Falmouth or Bodmin
Duration: 90 minutes
This first appointment helps us understand what’s going on for your child or teenager, and how we can best support them (and you) moving forward.
We’ll meet with you and your young person, usually alongside parents or carers, to talk through:
-
What difficulties have been noticed recently
-
When they began and how they’ve changed over time
-
Any background information that might help us understand the bigger picture
-
What you want to be different as a family

We aim to create a warm, calm space where young people feel listened to, and where families can share openly. At the end of the session, we’ll offer initial thoughts and suggest next steps. This might include therapy, support strategies, or further assessments if they would be helpful.

This session is about building understanding, reducing worry, and starting the right kind of help. It can also be a parent only appointment if preferred.
